A simple silhouette goes a long way.
A simple sneaker goes a long way.
I don't repeat outfits often, but if I did, it would certainly be this one. ;)

Be it cape'd, double breasted, boxy, or fitted, a white blazer is this summer's must-have ticket. Well, if you're into that effortless chic kinda thing...
I took my white blazer to Chinatown in LA to give it a spin. I was supposed to be in Shanghai at the time, but in classic #bosslady behavior, I booked a job last minute that I couldn't turn down. So I pressed the big red cancel button on China, and instead opted for LA's 100 square feet version-- a dollhouse-sized mecca of chachkies and spices galore. Pretty much my idea of of a grand ol' time!
And yes, of course I didn't leave empty handed. A "diamond" ring for $8, two of those long gold extended fingernails that you cover your pinky with for fun, four mini hair clips for $5, and a rabbit foot on a keychain. ;)
Come away with me as I tour you through the Parker in Palm Springs, CA, a destination hotel that leaves little room for one to desire to leave the grounds. Between the lobby furnishings to the outdoor green maze of sanctuaries and serenity, this place can be described in one simple word...
Legit!
I chose this colorful kaftan for the Tour de Parker because a sheer flowing maxi and home decor always go hand in hand. {Refer back to my consistent hostessing tip number one-- wear a long maxi to effortlessly float through your party.} This may not have been my party, but I certainly dreamed it up to be!
White ripped boyfriend jeans. That's one item you wouldn't have found in my closet five years ago. But now, the baggier and more ripped the better.
I'm digging it. Hard. I can't get enough.
Oh, and a secret about these BaubleBar earrings? Yes, the ones that are the exact replicas of the Dior 360's...for 1/20th the price. Still, I hear people say-- is it worth buying them? It's a jewelry trend and it will die fast...
Breaking news! Jewelry trends are the slowest of all trends to die down. There's no jewelry trend that goes in and out of style quickly. So the answer is YES. Yes! Yes!
And don't forget to say yes to the ultra ripped boyfriend jeans while you're in your yes mode!

A pencil skirt is my secret to no-fail outfit success. It's the oxymoron of street fashion.
Covered yet Revealing
Comfortable yet Chic
Professional yet Sexy
A pencil skirt can go beyond the ...with heels and a blouse... lewk, as shown in my afternoon coffee vibe from a few weekends ago. Here, my flatforms and a loose tee turn this pencil skirt into a full blown jeans and basic tee rival.
So for here on forward, I'm declaring that I'll be Penciling in Spring... all spring long ;)

This year I grabbed Coachella by the... Palm Trees! And I swung and swung my way into the most fun year yet.
Highlights? Keisza's entire set. The introduction to Jungle. Single handedly launching the Urban Decay #UDSummerNights spring makeup collection to 80k Coachell-ans (check out the full story here). Oh, and the Mac n' Cheese Grilled Cheese. Definitely the Grilled Cheese.
I hope you enjoy a glimpse into my weekend filled with music, fashion, food, and a hella-lotta walking skipping!

I wish I could tell you how much I love these sandals because they're genuinely so comfortable and literally $30... but I'm just too excited for Coachella tomorrow. So, I'm signing off to go pack away, but in the meantime I ask you to follow along my wild and crazy Coachella adventure on my instagram @ElshanesWorld! See you on social!!

I'm counting the moments until Coachella 2015 next weekend. In the meantime, I played dress up all weekend long in highest anticipation-- mixing boho flirty florals with some rough around the edges accessories and shoes. The result? Spring's freshest look yet.
This spring, I dare you to go back to the basics. A little dress, a little boot, a little belt, and some serious jewelry swag.
When you strip down all of the layers involved in making a great look, sometimes you realize that all it really takes is a girly mini dress to make you feel all sorts of ready for spring.
