SPRING FORWARD

posted by Elshane on Mar 23 2015, under Fashion

When there's a ray of sunshine, the hemlines go up...and up! It's a rule. And it's one of those rules that just need not be broken.

This spring is an ode to classic spring dresses-- floral, flirty, and fearless!

Keep it short, keep those legs tanned, and keep that smile bright.

It's like a brownie-in-a-box recipe...

Simple. Delicious.

SUDDENLY SPRING

posted by Elshane on Apr 13 2015, under Fashion

I'm counting the moments until Coachella 2015 next weekend. In the meantime, I played dress up all weekend long in highest anticipation-- mixing boho flirty florals with some rough around the edges accessories and shoes. The result? Spring's freshest look yet.

This spring, I dare you to go back to the basics. A little dress, a little boot, a little belt, and some serious jewelry swag.

When you strip down all of the layers involved in making a great look, sometimes you realize that all it really takes is a girly mini dress to make you feel all sorts of ready for spring.

PENCILING IN SPRING

posted by Elshane on Apr 23 2015, under Fashion

A pencil skirt is my secret to no-fail outfit success. It's the oxymoron of street fashion.

Covered yet Revealing

Comfortable yet Chic

Professional yet Sexy

A pencil skirt can go beyond the ...with heels and a blouse... lewk, as shown in my afternoon coffee vibe from a few weekends ago. Here, my flatforms and a loose tee turn this pencil skirt into a full blown jeans and basic tee rival.

So for here on forward, I'm declaring that I'll be Penciling in Spring... all spring long ;)

DESERT STORM

posted by Elshane on May 14 2015, under Fashion

This floral dress had me at hello! I'm a total extremist-- when I wear tight, it's tight (and short, and possibly see-through). But when I wear volume, I spare no extra fabric!

This dress goes the distance (literally). It moves like magic and gets a 10 out of 10 in twirl-ability (a known key to any romantic dress).

So twirling is what I did, in this perfectly pressed floral mini, through this desert garden oasis in Palm Springs...

ROMPING WITH RETNA

posted by Elshane on Jun 10 2015, under Fashion

Don't leave a girl alone in star-studded crystal western boots.

Who else wants a graffiti wall in their home? This wall is a Retna...errr'body's talking about him these days in the art world.

These artists will come and go.

But these boots? They'll last a lifetime.

BAE IN BLUE

posted by Elshane on Jun 18 2015, under Fashion

A dress can put a woman in a thousand moods! This midi dress? Confidence and power.

These days, I'm finding the longer the length of the dress, the seemingly sexier it is. That's not to say that I don't still grab for my minis, but these midis have recently stolen my heart.

I recommend thinking out of the box with a dress like this. It's a sure bet for cocktail attire, but also for an evening out with friends. Paired with a low-key wedge, it's even a perfect Sunday brunch go-to. It's dressing up without the fuss.

How do you wear your midis?

SPRING INTO A BOHO MAXI

posted by Elshane on Mar 8 2016, under Fashion

With the turn of March comes the sparkly inevitable... spring fashion! Sunshine! Tan shoulders! Although it's still hard to justify a mini dress with sandals {as I scroll through instagram and watch all of my New Yorker chicks still fighting the snow}, I knew the perfect style recipe would be a maxi dress and seasonless boots.

These boots were a new score for me-- and I'm not sure how I've lived my entire life without them! Perfect for all seasons, this ankle boot has just the right heel to take me from day to night. Also, the purposely scuffed toe box makes them feel like a true treasure. Plus, for under $200, they're worth every penny!

This maxi dress is a sort of a laugh at myself kind of moment. It's obviously not a maternity dress, yet somehow my 37 week bump squeezed right on in! I didn't even size up. It's one of those mysteries that I just can't explain. Point of the story? It's seemingly perfect for not only every growing belly, but of course, every enviable flat abdomen out there.

I topped the look off with a personal favorite-- a Mexican woven backpack. Timeless, chic, and completely effortless, this bag is a staple for spring.
