I'm feeling extremely blue this upcoming Memorial Day Weekend. 

Oh, the happiest blue alive!

Blue is SO FRESH for summer I just feel the need to write it in all caps! It is crisp, it is clean, it is chic, it is fun. It hits the nail on all points leading to ultimate cool-girl style. It gives tom-boys a reason to live, and girly girls a reason to survive. It is as royal as its surname, and as regal as the princess with whom the moniker was derived.

Get into the deep blue just in time for your pool party, beach party, or BBQ this Memorial Day with multiple pops of BLUE!

**In fashion related news, I'm jumping into fall colors a bit early this season with two feet forward. Pair me a sky blue oxblood combo any day of the week... except Wednesday. On Wednesday's we wear pink... ;)

A short dress doesn't often catch my eye. If you're not handing me a leopard skirt with a floral top, likely I'm just not that interested in what you have to offer. Period.

A short dress is just, well...that. It's short of all the frills and fun that comes along with creating a leeeewk. Just throw a dress on and you could be slangin' the identical get-up as a mere passerby'r. {GASP!}

But sometimes, just sometimes, a short dress can come out on top. In this case, with an extra accessory, a belt, a swaggin' smile, and a pair of sunnies so charismatic that they tell a story of their own, that the simple, short dress is just, well...right.

This is what I'd call a hit and run shoot. Hit the closet, score hard on a breezy dress, and run out of the house to be fashionably late to the party. Which is exactly what happened. I was literally running out of my house to go to a daytime beach bar to sip rosé with friends and watch the sunset, when I decided this dress deserved some solid blog lovin'.

The night ended with a few pies of pizza and a really stellar mint chip ice cream cone. I think part of what made the day so memorable was this perfect daytime LBD. It was as effortless as Kim Kardashian's hair David Beckham's free kick.

It's quite possibly my new favorite <3.

A pencil skirt can go beyond the ...with heels and a blouse... lewk, as shown in my afternoon coffee vibe from a few weekends ago. Here, my flatforms and a loose tee turn this pencil skirt into a full blown jeans and basic tee rival. 

So for here on forward, I'm declaring that I'll be Penciling in Spring... all spring long ;)

Be it cape'd, double breasted, boxy, or fitted, a white blazer is this summer's must-have ticket. Well, if you're into that effortless chic kinda thing...

I took my white blazer to Chinatown in LA to give it a spin. I was supposed to be in Shanghai at the time, but in classic #bosslady behavior, I booked a job last minute that I couldn't turn down. So I pressed the big red cancel button on China, and instead opted for LA's 100 square feet version-- a dollhouse-sized mecca of chachkies and spices galore. Pretty much my idea of of a grand ol' time!

And yes, of course I didn't leave empty handed. A "diamond" ring for $8, two of those long gold extended fingernails that you cover your pinky with for fun, four mini hair clips for $5, and a rabbit foot on a keychain. ;)

Don't leave a girl alone in star-studded crystal western boots.

Who else wants a graffiti wall in their home? This wall is a Retna...errr'body's talking about him these days in the art world.

These artists will come and go.

But these boots? They'll last a lifetime.

I'm cool for culottes this summer!

The trend has been spotted in all fabrications--from this lace jumpsuit to denim jeans.

It's surprisingly flattering on most body types. Since the trend cinches at the mid waist and falls into a flair out to above the ankle, it elongates and thins the leg at any height.
