BOBBI BROWN: THE NEW LUXE LIP

posted by Elshane on Oct 12 2015, under Beauty

Bobbi Brown has launched her new collection of lip shades in her best selling Luxe Lip lipstick. She's packed in a rich 20 hues in an array of feminine fall shades from pink nudes, to autumn corals, to vampy reds. Here, I'm wearing Pink Guava!

The lipstick is creamy with a medium shine and delivers vibrant full lip coverage with just one or two swipes. It's also infused with vitamins C and E and MaxiLip, plumps lips, and supports natural collagen production.

Possibly its best attribute? The fact that it's parabens, sulfates, and phthalates free. $35 at Sephora.

COUNTRYSIDE ROMANCE

posted by Elshane on Oct 7 2015, under Fashion

There's something about twirling in chiffon in the Texas countryside that just does it for me!

This L'Agence printed chiffon maxi is the perfect addition to your fall wardrobe. It's one of those items that I stash away in the closet for upcoming fall weekend happenings, like a bridal shower, sunset gathering, birthday party, or wine tasting.

Plus, I threw on this long sleeve under layer for an added dimension of style. Don't be confined by sleeveless dresses in fall weather-- an under layer only adds extra style to the mix!

PLAID COUNTRY

posted by Elshane on Oct 5 2015, under Fashion

You can call me the anti-"flannel shirt tied around the waist or flannel shirt in general" kind of girl, and I'll stick by it 100%. But when you present to me a unique one-of-a-kind item like this 3.1 Phillip Lim Apron Skirt with Suspenders and try to tell me not to splurge on it, there's no resistance to be had.

This plaid-everything-piece is just that. If you catch me in jeans (maybe once every other month, max), you'll find me throwing this item over my denim. If you catch me in a body-con sheath (on the regular), you can find me draping this apron over the dress almost like a jacket...or accessory. It's the perfect add on that's 99 parts insane, and one part just right.

Don't you agree?

A SUEDE STORY

posted by Elshane on Sep 28 2015, under Fashion

Tales of a working woman (likely part 14,670 on this blog)...

Find a quickie outfit on the go that will get you from A to B, looking fly as a female superpower, and without breaking the bank? {This faux suede shift dress is under $100!}

I'd go for a look like this-- from office to o-u-t-i-e; it's casual, sophisticated, and allows you room for personality through accessories and makeup selections.

I went off the beaten path a little with this oversized fur messenger bag as my accessory pop of the day. It's vintage from a flea market, so sorry to share that I can't guide you where to get your own, but I listed a few similar options in my Shop The Look section for both the fur-lover, and the PETA-friend.

Fall fashion is about staying on the right path...but beating to your own drum. After all, that's always been the Elshane's World way...

WESTERN FOR FALL

posted by Elshane on Sep 23 2015, under Fashion

I'm a big fan of mixing my highs and lows. Take this chiffon bow dress by Wayf (for under $100!), and this well-priced epic western belt (that if you don't yet own, I just don't quite understand why), and pair it back to some major designer accessories for a home run WOW!

Fashion is fleeting, but accessories stick around. I invested in this denim Chanel handbag this year and have never looked back. These Christian Louboutin boots are 6 years old and more fabulous by the day. Spend on designer accessories and save on easy dresses like this no-brainer from Wayf.

Plus, if you haven't touched in with the western trend yet, well then I just don't know what you're waiting for!

EMMYS 2015 RED CARPET

posted by Elshane on Sep 20 2015, under Life of a Stylist

Jaimie Alexander is flawless and bold in this Armani Prive gown. Plus, I'm really vibing with the short slicked back bobs these days. Hair and makeup perfection!

Many words that need not a sentence. Movie star. OMG. Glam. Sheer. Goddess. Kerry Washington in Marc Jacobs is just that!

Heidi Klum in Versace is an instant cause for controversy. I'm sure she'll hit the average American's worst dress list more than their bests, which is particularly why I love this even more. Her body and legs look flawless, and the left side of the dress is a complete 180 of its right side. It's a dress that makes you think-- is it new, is it old? Is it a vision, is it a disaster? In my opinion, a dress that can look that incredible on someone, and make you harp over its purpose is doing exactly what fashion is meant for-- makes you smile. This dress made me smile.

Here's another look that made me smile. Kiernan Shipka in a complete Christian Dior look gave me a breath of young air, while bringing it home with the unexpected trousers. A fashion moment!

Emma Roberts in Jenny Packham looked flawless on stage in this classic modern vintage vibe. Also, it reminds me of my wedding gown so I had to give it some extra love. The double wrapped necklace completes this look. Amazing how one piece of jewelry can turn a dress into an entire moment, right?

BEACHSIDE: TEL AVIV

posted by Elshane on Sep 16 2015, under Fashion

The beach in Tel Aviv is the definition of casual luxury. Casual because, well, no once cares what anyone wears (not that that stopped me from g.o.i.n.g t.h.e.r.e!). Luxury because, well, you can order just about anything you could ever imagine straight to the comfort of your beach chair.

If there's ever a sandy spot that has delivery vino, hookah, and tasty treats all in one spot, I like to call that home. {Saint-Tropez, Bodrum, Mykonos-- I didn't forget about you!}

The beaches of Tel Aviv, thanks for welcoming me into your home. ;)

BLUE PRINTED HALTER DRESS, TEL AVIV

posted by Elshane on Sep 14 2015, under Fashion

It was a cultural day exploring Tel Aviv, Israel on this day. We started in the Old City of Jaffa, walking through the quiet and ancient residential streets. So much history and culture as we watched families enjoy their Saturday morning Shabbat, catching a glimpse of a family here and there on a balcony, or walking by in an alleyway.

Oh, and then we went to the cosmopolitan Norman Hotel, Tel Aviv's swankiest new 5- star boutique hotel known for rooftop drinks and people watching. I felt like home with my glass of rosé and effortless mini dress! We met up with an old friend from Hong Kong and enjoyed our Saturday afternoon overlooking the city.

Now that's the way to tour a city. A little bit of this, a little bit of that. All in perfect situational dressing, of course!

Photographs taken in Tel Aviv, Israel.
