Chilling. This post was originally titled Tsunami, over a week ago. The tidal waves cascading across the dress made this a must-have piece, especially when winter falls and tights are stored away in those ever-handy plastic storage bins under the bed.
I woke up at 3am on Friday morning from a bad dream. Decided to check my twitter updates and instantly saw feed after feed of Japan's earthquake and tsunami breaking news, happening at this very moment. Warnings for a tsunami were in effect for the Los Angeles area through the late morning.
Alone, I jumped out of bed and packed a bag with two flashlights, a sweatshirt, and grapes. All necessities in a natural disaster. I texted all five (yes, five!) of my new and old LA friends, "WARNING! EVACUATE! TSUNAMI!" My eyes, fixated on the live coverage of five walls of water heading at 500 mph across the Pacific Ocean...
Nothing funny about this particular morning. Always thankful. My "lala-lovin" lifestyle was shaken and stirred and the memory solely survived by this dress.
