Took to the Meatpacking streets and stopped off at the Standard Hotel ice skating rink. Nostalgia, memories, youth. There I was standing behind the glass divider in tartan, leopard, and sequin, starring enviously at the carefree children skating mindlessly to and from their doting parents. Couldn't help but imagine myself skating away...across the country, leaving everything I've built here in New York behind. This 26-year-old ice princess is trading her skates for a sunny pair of roller blades and a silicone burger. Reality check. Hoping my heavy emotional burden desiccates in the California sun.
