Anyone who knows me knows that I live for that high maintenance look in that low maintenance way; the queen of the fashion oxymoron, or as I like to call it, simply winning the game.
Never catch me limping in heel pain, yet never dare catch me in a flat.
Never catch me toting more than just a carry-on suitcase in Europe, yet never spot me in Capri in the same lewk twice.
Same applies for makeup application. I've taken a high maintenance makeup look (think Kim Kardashian at the gym) and turned it into an easy 8 minute process. Ready, set...
Start with a freshly moisturized face-- eye makeup comes first, face makeup last. Why? Allow yourself a clean slate for eye shadow to fall around your face to make wiping away mistakes a breeze.
Layer strokes of a Stila Smudge Pot with a fine, high quality eye shadow brush around the almond shape of your upper lid. Strongest, darkest strokes should be brushed towards the corner of the lid, gradually making a winged {cat-eye} shape pointing upwards toward your temples.
Highlight the area between your smokey eye and your brow with a neutral shimmer shadow.
Using the same brush but without re-dipping it in the shadow, brush a thin, faint line along the outer bottom corners of your eye, as shown above. For a less intense eye, skip this step.
Then take your thin black pencil liner and fill your under eyelid with color-- a must!
Finish the look by applying a generous coat of tinted moisturizer, blush and mascara.
And of course, last but not least, call upon the brow-goddess Anastasia to perfect your golden arches. Brush + shadow those BROWS!
8 minutes later, you can take a #selfie and nearly claim, "I woke up like this".
