Jennifer Lawrence was Best Dressed in Dior Haute Couture. For me to name a gown best dressed that has zero flashes of gold, shimmers of silver, or highlights of color is BOLD. As bold as Jennifer's presence on the carpet. From behind, her floating diamond necklace sashayed with the volume of her bustling train. It was a moment where art and fashion collide. She was flawless, matched by her only-human fall...chanced solely by of her award-winning gown...
 

Salma Hayek's Alexander McQueen gown made the ladies of Marchesa do a double-take! {Are you sure this gown isn't a Georgina special?} Regardless, the over-the-top bejeweled column that feeds into the sweetheart neckline of deep black velvet is refreshingly powerful and sexy. A sleek ponytail would have turned up the heat even more...
 

Octavia Spencer turned it out {in custom Tadashi Shoji}!  Not for a second is weight weighed into the elegance of this gown. First to mind... beautiful color. Second to mind... exquisite silhouette. Third to mind... regal presence. This is a lesson in "dressing for the body" at its best!

Anne Hathaway who is equally named on best and worst dressed lists from last night's affair wins a spot on my best, especially after reading this article on Refinery29. A morning-of change of fashionable heart had Anne suit up in an ode to the 90's Prada gown in a calculated effort to be completely different from the other leading ladies on the carpet. The perfectly placed darts was a pleasantly edgy surprise for Anne's dorky demeanor. Maybe her all-around win will loosen her up a bit!
