Coachella 2014 is one for the books... I mean endless, endless, endless fun!
We arrived Thursday evening and had a low-key night spent hanging in a circle of close friends.
Friday started with a bang! In the wee morning, the film crew from Glam.com came to our house and interviewed me for 2 hours about my typical festival experiences. They are producing a "day in the life" video series for Coachella featuring my 3-day journey! I can't wait to share more...
By lunchtime on Friday, we hit a quick pool party, then went straight to the festival to see some of my favorite performers-- Girl Talk, Ellie Goulding and OutKast. The crowds were wildly happy in a state of euphoria! Walking in a sea of happy people is like joining a hedonist revolution.
Saturday and Sunday followed suit. Early rise, pool parties until 3pm, and then straight to the fields to celebrate music past midnight, like Pharrell, Lorde, Empire of the Sun, Muse, and Calvin Harris to name a few. On Saturday night we went to the Neon Carnival sponsored by Nylon mag and Guess Jeans and partied until 5am! I caught it all on Instagram for @bebe_stores, since they sent me to Coachella to live-stream my journey all weekend long!
Coachella isn't for the faint of heart. There were epic sandstorms that literally took the paint off of people's cars. There were moments of hunger, moments of fatigue (98 degree heat in a desert can do that to anyone). There were blisters on feet that could have caused a sooner-than-expected towel throw-in. There was no mobile phone reception which made linking up with friends in a crowd of 80,000 people least ideal.
But, for the select few, the select 80,000 individuals who stood up against the odds, against the barriers of defeat, it was, and will always remain...
...the best weekend of the year.
