URBAN DECAY: NAKED ON THE RUN

A Japanese, an American, a Russian, and an Armenian girl all walk into a bar...

Sounds like the first line of a dad joke, but it was actually just the start of our amazing #nakedontherun journey through New Orleans!

I was like a kid in a candy store this weekend, or better yet, in Elshane terminology, a fashionista at a Barneys warehouse sale when Urban Decay Cosmetics flew me across the country to New Orleans for three days and three nights to test out and experience their newest eyeshadow and beyond palette, Naked On The Run.

It began with four beautiful chicks who had never before met, bound together by a perfect square makeup box filled with 11 vegan, cruelty-free colors to paint our faces with. Our features couldn't have been more uniquely different, some heart shaped lips, some barely-there lips (tear...that's me); some almond-shaped eyes, and some big ol' bug eyes (again, that'd be me), but we put our own spin on the Naked On The Run palette as we toured one of the greatest cities I've ever explored. And to be honest? We looked HOT.

And so it went, the journey of experimenting with perfectly shimmery nudes, highlighting and contouring my oh-so-eager eyes, all while exploring my new favorite city. Come along on my visually telling photo journey with my three new friends...

Keiko, Teni, Sona, and I shared our first cheers over a welcome dinner on a Thursday evening. Little did we know that two nights later we would be cry-laughing while rehearsing our favorite one-liner jokes that we dug up, moment by moment, through our #nakedontherun three-day tour of New Orleans.

My favorite part of the palette was my ability to play up my look from day to night. During the day, I mixed (eyeshadow color from left to right) number 1 (Dive) on my lids, with 3 (Resist) on my crease. At night, I used Dive again on my lids, but this time went for drama with number 5 (Stun) on my crease. I used the white shimmer on bottom right (color 5050) to highlight under my brows each time.

I finished the look by lining my lids with the mini pencil they provided -- it's a rich brown-ish aubergine tone called Stag. For day, only a hint of a cat-eye line on my top lid, and at night, I went heavy cat-eye from top lid to bottom, blending the line into my smokey shadows.

The Perversion mascara they included was shockingly perfect. Shocking because I had never tried it before. Perfect because I'll never stop using it again.

The lip gloss (Sesso) in the palette comes on shimmery clear with a hint of rose. It's the perfect compliment to my smokey eye-- and currently resides at the bottom of my handbag for all day re-appplication. ;)

So there it came and went. I left my heart in New Orleans...

Oh, and if you want this #nakedontherun Urban Decay palette, you better set your alarm for tomorrow, 1pm PST on November 20th to order it on Urban Decay's website, because I know it will sell out in under an hour...

Good thing I've got my very own palette on lock down! Actually, I got two... I loved it that much. ;)
